Abstract
To improve the involvement of the public and patients in the education of undergraduate health science students, we will review best practices, assess current involvement, and gather stakeholder opinions through surveys and focus groups. The findings will guide the expert group in developing evidence-based recommendations and resources for a 4-week educational program. This program, including a co-designed online course and materials, will be tested for usability and acceptability in four European countries.
The expected results of the PULPIT project are international recommendations to promote public and patient involvement and interprofessional education, a validated program with a white paper for easier implementation at other universities, and educational materials such as videos and podcasts. The program is expected to improve the training of healthcare professionals, communication between them, and, as a result, ensure more personalized patient care.
