Abstract
Objectives: What do you want to achieve by implementing the project? The FENCE project aims to foster an entrepreneurial culture within Nursing Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), enhancing the entrepreneurial innovation skills and mindset of nursing students and early-career nurses. It seeks to offer comprehensive calls to action for Nursing HEIs in this field, develop and curate various self-assessment tools and educational materials for both nursing educators and students, and conduct numerous training and outreach initiatives within the project's scope. Implementation: What activities are you going to implement? A systematic review of policies/frameworks to foster entrepreneurial innovation in Nursing HEIs and explore stakeholders' perceptions of current challenges/opportunities through focus groups. A task force of international experts will co-design evidence-based recommendations, a self-assessment and learning platform for students, as well as training courses for academics, students, and early-career nurses. These resources’ feasibility and meaningfulness will be tested by the 8 European partners. Results: What project results and other outcomes do you expect your project to have? FENCE’s expected co-design outcomes are: i) international consensus recommendations on fostering entrepreneurial innovation in Nursing HEIs; ii) a self-assessment and learning platform for students and early-career nurses; iii) digital educational libraries for self-paced learning; iv) virtual active learning and train-the-trainer courses for stakeholders; iv) multiplier and outreach events, culminating in the launch of the European Nursing Entrepreneurship and Innovation Observatory.
