Abstract
The purpose of the POLY CIRCULAR project is to develop innovative technologies for chemical and biochemical decomposition of packaging waste into high quality secondary raw materials with added value for independent use (gases, chemicals, oils / fuels, etc.) or incorporation into new products such as biopolymers. We will focus on packaging waste of natural origin from cellulose/lignocellulose and synthetic / plastic packaging (PET, PA, PP, PE, XPE, etc.). The main goal of the project is to establish new advanced circular processes (new circular business models) for recycling plastic/natural packaging waste, which can significantly help to increase material efficiency and at the same time add value to the obtained products. The result of the project will be reflected in high-quality secondary raw materials for use in new products intended for the domestic and global market.
- Strategic design of industrial symbiosis between secondary raw materials from packaging waste of natural and synthetic origin (natural / plastic packaging)
- Optimized collection - logistics and traceability of waste
- Sorting and pre-treatment of packaging waste
- Process optimization for the chemical and biotechnological decomposition of cardboard / plastic packaging into secondary raw materials
- Development of industrial applications from secondary raw materials for the chemical, plastics industries; Production of gases and chemicals from packaging waste
- Demonstration of the complete concept of recycling of natural / plastic waste packaging in DEMO environment
- Digital Passport for secondary raw materials
