Abstract
Over the past decade, the incidence of chronic diseases has been growing at an alarming rate, which is why behavioural change is crucial to achieving better self-care among people with chronic diseases and ensuring active ageing. We can have a significant impact on this by improving the competencies of nursing students to change behavior and effectively support self-care. The new Train4Health project will thus make an important contribution to increasing transnational cooperation between higher education institutions and the quality of curricula and training by providing a coherent and innovative educational package on supporting behavioural change in chronic diseases. The specific objectives of the project include harmonizing a European multidisciplinary competency framework on behavior change in chronic diseases, defining learning outcomes-based curricula based on the previously developed competency framework, conducting tested case studies for training on behavior change in chronic diseases, providing tested simulation software for training on behavior change, and preparing recommendations for the large-scale implementation of the Train4Health educational package.
