Abstract
ODE4EC-AMS is a Horizon Europe / Chips JU Innovation Action coordinated by IHP GmbH, uniting 27 partners from 12 European countries to build an open-source tool chain for analogue and mixed-signal (AMS) chip design. It directly addresses Europe's strategic dependence on foreign proprietary EDA software, as highlighted by the European Chips Act. Key deliverables include improvements to the ngspice simulator, parasitic extraction, a modular design environment (MOSAIC), open-source PDK enhancements, and a reusable AMS/RF IP library — all validated through actual silicon fabrication. The 36-month project pursues 12 objectives and 17 technical solutions aimed at lowering barriers to semiconductor design for European startups, SMEs, academia, and industry.
