Abstract
Our research programme covers some recently very strongly and quickly developing fields in applied mathematics, theoretical physics, artificial intelligence and intelligent systems. In the first place our research concerns the development of nonlinear dynamics of chaotic and complex systems with emphasis on classical and quantum chaos in Hamiltonian systems, where we have already achieved a lot of successes and shall continue with this line of research. The other theoretical fields which we shall include in our programme – provided sufficient funds - are fluid dynamics and plasma theory, applications in theoretical astrophysics and implementation and development of computer algebra. An important new component and domain is the development and applications of artificial intelligence, especially of the inductive logical programming for solving some problems of complex systems in natural sciences, engineering and medicine, e.g. determination of the 3D structure of protein macromolecules. These methods are very important in those complex systems where the approach from first principles is not possible at all. Along with this there is a crucial infrastructural component, namely the development and implementation of a homogeneous cluster of PCs connected with a fast local network, and implementation of parallel software systems.
