Abstract
ProSURG is an international scientific research project focused on investigating the impact of probiotic intervention on recovery after neurosurgical procedures. The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial involves 100 adult participants. The study includes monitoring of clinical status, quality of life, pain, and wound healing using validated questionnaires, as well as the analysis of blood samples. The project is conducted under ethical approval and represents an integration of expertise from the fields of clinical medicine, microbiology, and biomedicine. It is carried out through collaboration between the University of Maribor, Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Austrian Institute AllergoSan.
