Abstract
AcceptRemote places Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) at the core of its design, ensuring that technological innovations in remote operations are co-created with and for society. The project develops a comprehensive Societal Readiness Framework and Societal Readiness Level methodology embedding inclusiveness, trust, cultural adaptation and gender sensitivity across all S&T activities and our three strategically located pilots. Building on this strong SSH foundation, AcceptRemote translates its commitment to societal integration into practical, real-world demonstrations across Europe. The project addresses CCAM remote operations through three demonstration pilots: RideCare focusing on the transport of people including vulnerable user groups; LogiCare demonstrating autonomous logistics solutions with a single-operator fleet supervision; and FlexiCare showcasing an integrated mix transport of people and goods. Advanced AI-powered solutions include predictive QoS communication frameworks, generative AI scenario building tools, and multi-agent fleet coordination systems. AcceptRemote develops validated operational guidelines combining technical specifications with societal acceptance criteria while establishing safety validation methodologies aligned with EU frameworks and creates economically viable business models demonstrating operational efficiency improvements and emission reductions. By systematically linking societal insights to technical design choices and policy recommendations, AcceptRemote guarantees that remote mobility solutions are not only technologically advanced and operationally efficient, but also widely trusted, inclusive and responsive to diverse European societal needs, positioning SSH as a catalyst for safe, sustainable, and accepted mobility in Europe.
