Abstract
This project will develop recyclable iridium-containing dendrimer catalysts as sustainable alternatives to disposable iridium catalysts currently used for selective hydrogen/deuterium (H/D) exchange reactions. By immobilizing iridium complexes within dendrimer architectures, the catalysts are expected to combine the high activity and selectivity of homogeneous catalysts with the recoverability and reusability of heterogeneous systems, supporting a transition toward a circular economy for isotope labelling. Their performance will be benchmarked against polymer-supported catalysts and the state-of-the-art Kerr catalyst. In addition, a novel CO₂-responsive catalyst recovery strategy will be explored to enable efficient catalyst recycling and repeated reuse without compromising catalytic performance.
