Abstract
The EuroCC 3 project aims to further develop a network of National Competence Centers (NCCs) in the most efficient way, while also addressing differences in the maturity of HPC deployment across Europe. These NCCs will continue to support industry, public administration, and academia by providing HPC resources, knowledge, and various services.
Significance for science
The EuroCC 3 project consolidates the European network of National Competence Centres for High-Performance Computing (HPC), enabling researchers to perform advanced big data analytics and complex system simulations. By facilitating cross-border knowledge transfer, the project effectively closes performance gaps in computing maturity and actively fosters open, interdisciplinary, and world-class scientific research across Europe.
Significance for the country
For Slovenia, the project enhances the operation of the national competence centre within the SLING consortium, ensuring optimal integration and full utilization of the domestic EuroHPC Vega supercomputer. Through targeted training and consultancy, it elevates digital skills, drives the transfer of advanced technologies (HPC, AI) into the industrial sector, and strengthens the country's economic competitiveness and technological sovereignty.
