Abstract
In the framework of proposed research program we plan to develop new approaches, systems, methodologies, models and technologies in areas of planning, design, construction, maintenance and management of road transport and infrastructure. Research will include technological, informational, ecological, economical, social and legal aspects. They will cover management of individual and public transport of passengers and goods. Special attention will be given to areas of maintenance and management of road infrastructure with main focus on methods, techniques and technologies for collection of data about pavement condition, research on models for deterrence forecasts and economical evaluation. In area of traffic management we will put most of our efforts in research on intelligent transport systems (ITS). Again, the main focus will be on methods, techniques and technologies for traffic data collection, models for incident detection, expert systems development and information dissemination.
