Abstract
The reaction kinetics of some catalytic and noncatalytic model reactions was investigated in thermal and microwave fields using a specially designed high-pressure microwave reactor. Using the same microwave system, anatase-to-rutile phase transition of TiO2-anatase gels was investigated in thermal and microwave fields. Dynamic capacity and characterization of CIM (Convective interaction media) monolithic columns and CIM disks was investigated. Biodegradation of chemicals and wastewater was investigated in variety water environments, as well as the prediction of the dynamic behaviour of the pilot wastewater treatment plant. A comparison of the real pilot plant parameters and model simulation was done proving the model confidence in the sence of carbon and nitrogen removal. The structure and properties of acrylic-polyurethane hybrid emulsions and comparison with physical blends were investigated. The kinetics of polymerisation of unsaturated polyesters was studied as well. The rheological behaviour of water based alumina and CaCO3 suspensions were investigated at different solid volume fractions. As the dispersive medium we used weakly gel structures composed of different polysaccharides. The studies of rheological properties of hydrophilic polymers that are capable to form weak gels are in progress. The possibilities of composting of waste microbial biomass from the production of clavulanic acid by Lek, d.d., Pharmaceutical plant was studied. Clavulanic acid degradation kinetics during composting was also investigated. As an interesting alternative to industrially performed batch process and unsuccessfully whole cell immobilization the repeated or continuous uses of a pelleted growth form of the filamentous fungus Rhizopus nigricans ATCC 6227b in the process of progesterone 11(-hydroxylation) was investigated.
