Abstract
The researches include six main activities:
1 – publishing of the relevant medieval sources, diplomatic and paleographical researches dealing with the period of the Middle Ages;
2 – historical topography, i. e. researching the oldest toponyms (place names) in Slovenia, detecting of their location;
3 – researches of cultivating and population development of Slovene territoy in the Middle Ages;
4 – publishing monographies and treatises of economic Slovene history;
5 – studying of the social history of Slovene territory (peasantry, nobility, towns and their inhabitants);
6 – researches dealing with achievements of civilization, culture and everyday life in Slovene Middle Ages.
The researches are based on original sources in old handwritings and languages. The sources are preserved in archives, libraries and museums in Slovenia and abroad (Vienna, Graz, Klagenfurt, Udine, Venice, Rome, München, Budapest, Zagreb, Paris).
