Abstract
A cultural analysis of visual (journalistic) practices as conceptualized and produced by major print media institutions in Slovenia between 1989 and 1999 with implications regarding questions of ideology, professional practices, and social uses. The study employs notions of representation and mediation to reconstruct the creation of social and political realities in Slovenia through the uses of photographs in the press.
