Abstract
Proposed research is complementary part of the research carried out under the name of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). It concentrates on three basic questions: 1) Does the level of entrepreneurial activity vary between countries and, if so, by how much 2) Does the level of entrepreneurial activity affect a country's rate of economic growth? 3) What makes a country entrepreneurial? The central aim of the GEM that was created in 1997 was to bring together the world's best scholars in entrepreneurship to study the complex relationship between entrepreneurship and economic growth. The project was designed to be a long-term, multinational enterprise. GEM provides an authoritative basis for discussing how to facilitate entrepreneurial activity and, in turn, national economic growth.
