Abstract
In the proposed research we will study main sources of uncertainty and their contribution to the measurement uncertainty of primary standard for pressure generation by static expansion. We will determine algorithms for correction of errors and uncertainty of these algorithms. We will focus our research to the following topics. (1) Measurements of thermal degazation of calibration chambers and modeling of diffusion and recombination of hydrogen evolving from the surface, (2) Studies and modeling of temperature profiles of expansion chambers, (3) Research of a new method for determination of expansion ratio and its comparison with other existing methods, (4) Studies of uncertainty of measurements of initial pressure including the studies of long term stability of transfer standard gauges and (5) Mathematical modeling of pressure generation by static expansion, verification of the system and procedures and international interlaboratory comparison.
