Abstract
Hazardous materials represent constant threat for society and environment. Risks, related to fixed sources of hazardous materials, are relatively easy to asses, with respect to quantity and type of the substance. This enables us to establish effective measures for prevention of spillage into the environment. Transport of hazardous materials represent larger threat, that is harder to asses. This is due to: (1.) extension of potentialy endangered area is in case of moving transport much larger then with the fixed storage; (2.) transport is a dynamic process.
Purpose of the project is to produce a model for assesment of risks, related with transport of hazardous materials on origin-destination path. In the model the nature and properties of road network, protected areas, traffic, road accidents will be included. The project has 8 main parts: (1.) model of the data base, (2.) analysis of accident data, (3.) establishment of traffic safety condition; (4.) establishment of potential consequences of spillage; (5.) establishment of hot-spots in road network; (6.) determination of optimal path; (7.) establishment of methodology for risk assesment; (8.) final result of the project will be determination of least risky transport path, establishment of data basis for risky road sections and assesment of risks, related with transport of hazardous materials.
