Abstract
In the handling of the problems of Slovene nursery schools in Italy we come often across the question of socialization and of the linguistic code in which this takes place. A long series of factors affects the development of linguistic education of pre-school children in a bilingual environment: the linguistic habits of parents, living environment, didactic and pedagogic choices of educational institutions, the reputation and use of the language in public etc. Many of our authors and researchers have examined the effect of the stated factors on the choice of the linguistical code. However we have not yet analysed whether and how the quality of group dynamics in class influences the development of linguistic abilities in Slovene. We know very little about the quality of dynamics in bilingual nursery schools. Theoretically it is possible to advocate the hypothesis according to which the linguistic code and a series of group dynamics are not necessarily connected. It would be therefore very interesting to investigate whether, how and to what extent the type of interactions among children affects the development of a certain linguistic code. Our project wants to investigate this very question. We have therefore set out these aims:1) to observe and to note down the type of relationships children establish with other children and with the nursery school personnel;2) to ascertain whether and to what extent the quality of the dynamics in the nursery school affects the choice of the communication code among the observed,3) to establish whether some dynamics promote the children's development of speaking competence and which these dynamics are;4) on the basis of the results, to write a manual for teachers and parents about the way and techniques regarding the improvement of speech competence development in Slovene in a bilingual child. We will use the method of observation. This method is used as a research method at the ethological and psychoanalytical investigation of relationships, established by very little children with important others: with adults and with their peers. We will compare three groups of nursery school children from three Slovene nursery schools.
