Abstract
It is known that lung cancer is associated with hypocholesterolemia and that the survival of patients with lung cancer is inversely related to concentration of serum cholesterol. With our research we try to explaine different relationships between serum cholesterol and lung cancer. We will compare behaviour of lung cancer cells in vitro under different growing conditions. The influence of cholesterol lowering drugs (statins) will be investigated. At the same time we will explore the influence of sinchrone terapy with statins and citostatics on the cancer cells. The results of our survey will help to answer the question about use of anticholesterol treatment in cancer patients.
