Abstract
The proposed research project addresses the use of hybrid selection in evolutionary computation for multi-criteria scheduling in the schedule optimization. We intend to carry out several quality assessments of multi-criteria scheduling with various evolution operators in the selection process including hybrid approaches. The methodology is based on system approach, on the scheduling paradigm in decision-making process and evolutionary computation. These hypotheses will be tested: a) influence of selection type on speed and quality of convergence, b) influence of the type of hybrid selection, c) influence of problem complexity on time response of the scheduling system, depending on its size and d) influence of the fitness function formulation in multi-criteria scheduling. To support the research we intend to develop the methodology and software to enable interactive monitoring of multi-criteria scheduling in near-realtime. This software will enable us to perform: a) interactive experimental control and b) transfer of scheduling results to the decision-making process. Experiments' results will allow us to generalization the results of previous research projects and the formulation of the influence of hybrid selection on multi-criteria scheduling, regarding the convergence towards an optimal solution, used in the decision-making process.
