Abstract
Dynamic emulation of the mechanical loads is a new method for the development of the products, which is used to shorten the time period passing between the idea and the realization of the final product. Different than the conventional simulations, which are performed only on the computer, complete drive system is available, however instead to the actual driven system it is mechanically connected to the system performing active loading. Thus, instead of simulation model, an electromechanical system, which we plan to use in the final application, is included, whereas in the place of the driven mechanism an electromechanical system, performing the dynamic emulation of the mechanical load, is used. Thus already in the phase of the product design it is possible to execute specific tests, for which the prototype would be required. This enables not only shorter time period passing from the idea to the product, but also the increased productivity of the development team. It is also an important fact, that the same system can be used for the development of a higher number of products, which is especially important, when the product are unique or in small series.
Method can also be used for the other procedures and educational purposes. The possibility for the use in testing, where tests can be performed under specifically defined conditions, is especially important. This feature is hard to satisfy on the prototype. Additionally, it is possible to ensure the high repeatability of tests, which is particularly important in the phase of the error searching.
Maybe the most important fact is that conventional static load tests are not sufficient for the testing of the variable speed and torque loads, and therefore don't satisfy the requirements of the development, validation and testing.
The research project has the intention to perform research on the field of development and building of the dynamic load emulation systems used for the dynamic emulation of the mechanical loads. The libraries including the models of various mechanical systems (pumps, fans, electrical vehicles, ...) will be created. Models will be tested and evaluated on the practical examples. The final product of research will be the generally applicable system, which will enable the user testing of the electrical drives and algorithms for their control in the wide range of the target mechanical components and devices.
