Abstract
The Railway''s Terminology Dictionary is a linguistic project of comprehensive qualifications. It deals not only with the strait rail topics, but also with the terminology meant for a breadth of potential users linked with the railway. The dictionary comprises 14 languages lacking Slovene, Japanese, Finnish and many others planned for the third edition in June 1999. The projects is characterized by translations of words, terms, phrases, descriptions and definitions out of three official UIC languages (German, English and French). The translations are rendered with the help of the program Raillexic 2.0 (written in Foxpro), subdivided into 15 topics and many subtopics. In the recent editions we meet terms from the most advanced technology as Information Technology, High-Speed Railways and Maglev trains.
