Abstract
The project aims to design and develop a system for automatic processing of Slovenian broadcast news audio recordings. The system will be based on speech technologies and it will be able to perform the following tasks: segmentation of speech recordings into homogeneous parts, text and audio data alignment (in real-time for read texts known in advance), subtitling and closed captioning of programs with restricted domain vocabularies.
Within the scope of the project we further intend to set up an extensive corpus of broadcast news in the Slovenian language that will be acquired and documented according to international standards and recommendations.
