Abstract
The aim of the proposed project is to develop the technology and methodology, necessary for the objective and quantitative assessment of the upper limb functional state in persons with movement disorders. The software defined virtual environments will be designed for Windows operating system. In addition, the development of new modules for the upper limb movement assessment will include new techniques for the upper limb trajectory acquisition by using standard computer input devices (switches, mouse and joystick). The modules will be used to evaluate functional tasks in virtual environment, such as controlling a wheelchair and two types of robots, for which the corresponding kinematic and dynamic models will be developed.
The developed modules will be tested through a system evaluation in the clinical environment.
