Abstract
New 30MN forging press made in Slovenia at Ravne na Koroškem enables with its design a new concept of hot forging, i.e. forging with V-tools and complete automation of technology. This concept is new also in the world, actually the complete automation system of the forging process is nowhere yet realized. Proposer of this project has already made and initiated a forging simulator for automatisation of forging with flat tools in the production process. The purpose of this project is to research, to study and to initiate the forging technology with V-tools that is more intensive and which enables better properties of forged pieces of the weight till 25t. On the basis of physical and numerical simulation of material flow by using V-tool, software to optimize and to control the forging technology will be made. It will be derived from material database, which will be enlarged with material properties depended of the kinetics of the microstructure evolution. This philosophy is well known in the rolling of long products and it will be the future for forging technology.
