Abstract
Use of chromium containing wood preservatives is limited already and will be forbidden in the near future. Therefore, new solutions how to reduce leaching of copper from wood preserved with chromium free preservatives are investigated. Amines are possible alternative to chromium. Thus, the influence of amines and carboxylic acids on leaching of active ingredients from wood will be examined. The mechanisms of fixation are important and will be examined as well. In addition, the mechanisms of fungitoxic will be elucidated. The interactions of wood preservatives with copper tolerant fungal strains will be of particular interest.
