Abstract
Vernacular architecture is modest, pure theory, but it works. The first architecture has been made by unlearned, but not unskilled workers. The knowledge has been inherited. It is understood Today as science, Yesterday it was the order. Thus is the idea of basic architecture so important. All old architecture Today is good architecture, because bad realisations collapsed in time. And it has to be learned from those good examples. But - we have to know them, at least. Importance of the growth of constructional principles for architecture as scientific discipline in historical context represents its praxis. This changes theoretical principles into practice. It is the highest result of sophisticated theory. And this represents Slovene smallness and here we have to show the value of its quality. Objects of treatment are kozolec/hayrack, granary, transhuman log cabin on Velika planina, black kitchen, all in comparisson to European architecture. Use of the results is not possible neither in details, nor in techniques, nor in technologies. Architect can follow its goals by idea only, and in searching, in treating and in undrstanding of differences. This architecture can follow the needs of contemporary society. Aplicative success can be successful in connection with principles in realty. The real method is as follows: discovering of old knowledge, procedures and technologies, understanding as proofing of theory in practice and viceversa, evaluation in contemporery life, implementation into work Tomorrow: these are results of the project. International co-operation in the field of understanding of theory in practice, aslo in architecture, is neccesary. The project uses system work of treating, including all other professions, involving, bordering, or been influenced. Rationalisation of the roject is essential part of it: skeleton is built-in, system for common work of different scinetific disciplines, it uses existing treatments and researches, uses Internet and quick connection technologies, and finally it uses all other technical and technological possibilities, all for promotion of science. Results will develope the motive: scientific thought in architecture represents development itself, but only on basis of heritage, techniques as well as culture in built landscape. PROGRAMME 1 Architecture as scientific discipline 2 Vernacular architecture and its significance 3 Theory: construction, composition, estetics 4 Practice: needs and possibilities, attainability 5 Theory in practice and practice in theory: idea, geometry, math theory, use and ecology 6 Documentation: vernacular architecture in Slovenia: clay, stone, brick and wood 7 Aplication: theory. Nucleus, triangle, design, composition 8 Aplication: practice. Fire, corbelling, beam from the stem, square from the circle 9 Results presentation 10 Presentation of scientific thought (conclusions)
