Abstract
Provision of security services in global networks requires an establishment of security infrastructure, which means the definition of supporting systems and the development of appropriate cryptographic protocols. The research areas of the project include the development of cryptographic protocols, which will require minimal processing capabilities. This is important for many mobile devices and better deployment of available bandwidth in wide-band systems. The basis for development will be one-way hash functions and message authentication codes, because the latter provide better cryptographic strength. The research will include the formalization of security policies, as this is needed to automate related tasks. Finally, alternatives to global security infrastructure architecture will be defined. New solutions will be developed by deploying formal techniques (language Z and formalism Gong-Needham-Yahalom).
