Abstract
Crevice corrosion is caused by corrosion processes in geometrical limited space. Due to this, a localization of anodic and cathodic area arise. This type of corrosion is present in different environments, mostly as a consequence of construction geomety, surface shape, different aeration, joints of metal with another metal or non-metal materials, etc. In certain cases, crevice corrosion cannot be entirely eliminated. Therefore, in order to to take action in time, it is important to know the basic characteristics of metal materials and such conditions. The result of our research will be used for understanding of basic mechanisms of crevice corrosion, as well as will help to solve a lot of corrosion problems in energetic industry, different branches of industry, as well as in medicine.
