Abstract
The research project will tackle problems from the approximation theory, particularly geometric interpolation by polynomial curves and surfaces and spline spaces.
The problem of determining the dimension of the space of $C^1$ splines over cells and possibilities of determining the dimension by removing cells on the boundary of the triangulation will be studied.
The geometric interpolation by polynomial curves and surfaces and the approximation order will be studied.
