Abstract
A model of interactive multimedia information system for plant protection at the national level is developed. The system is planned to cover the domains of plant entomology, mycology, nematology, herbology, virology, bacteriology, pesticides, monitoring of residues and other plant-protection related fields. The project is designed as a multidisciplinary, including information specialists and experts of all earlier mentioned fields. The main purpose of the information system is to offer the interested users (agronomists, phytopathologists, chemists, biochemists) a central source of relevant, up-to-date and easily accessible information in the field of plant protection. It is designed as a modular system which could operate even with the basic configuration and allows for quick accessibility of the system, its independent use and optional addition of modules.
