Abstract
Medical Terminological Dictionary (MTD) is a research project which has formally started on January 1, 1994 in a collaboration with the Institute for Slovenian Language Fran Ramovš (at ZRC, The Slovenian Academy of Science and Arts, Ljubljana). On the project MTD we are dealing with the vocabulary used in the medical science, updated with more important and frequent expressions from the recent findings in developing medical science. The dictionary is intended to be an additional help to students, a support to the physicians with their professional and research work, to translators and writers of professional and popular medicine literature, to journalists dealing with the topics of modern health care, and finally to the patient that would like to understand more about their own illness. The work on the project is founded as a fundamental work in the field of Slovenian medical terminology. In the framework of this project PRAVOPIS MEDICINSKIH IZRAZOV, in which more than 70000 items and phrases have been included, has already been issued.
