Abstract
The objective of the »Control and Optimization of the Power Transformer Noise Emission« project is to determine the approach to the problems related with the transformer noise. An additional objective is to develop useful technical solutions to ensure that the producers of transformers can better control and optimize the problem of noise for power transformers of a selected range of power. In the framework of the project, the criteria and algorithms will be determined to enable the optimization of the assembly parts of the power transformer regarding the noise and solutions for the noise reduction will be suggested.
Significance for science
The proposed applicative project is based on an industrial problem dealing with the possibility to control, optimize and finally reduce the transformer noise emissions. During the project, we will generate important information and knowledge in the field of the optimization, control and reduction of the sources of noise and consequently noise emission. Project will result in: - the optimization of the structure of multifunctional composite having two primary functions - electric and vibro-isolation of the core from the tank of transformer, - the designation of criteria and algorithms that will enable the optimization of the energy transformer components concerning the emission of noise independently from type and size of transformer. These results are also useful in other fields of design and construction of machines and structures, where the reduction of the transfer of vibrations between structural elements is required. The exchange of information, knowledge and findings among different groups engaged in project will be made possible. We will publish research findings and present them at conferences and workshops. The segments of Scientific Relevance are: - discovery of new scientific findings, - improvement and extension of methodology, - development of the basic research field, - development of applicative research, - development of new technologies.
Significance for the country
Relevance of the project to the socio-economic development of the Republic of Slovenia is exhibited with: - higher added value of the transformers producer, - posistioning in the niche - better competitivnes of the transformers producer, and - new damping element for the reduction of pressure wave represents a new potential niche for the Slovenian rubber composite industy.
