Significance for science
Theoretical understanding and mastering of transport in quantum systems of interacting fermions is one of the challenging fundamental problems in the solid state physics. An advance is evident using and developing of numerical high-performance computing techniques as well as in the application of proper phenomenology. Our research in this field with proper novel ideas and methods is expected to result in high impact through publications, dissemination of results in scientific meeting and collaborations within the scientific community.
Significance for the country
Successful research in this active field of solid state physics and material science opens great opportunities for the exchange of scientists, in particular younger ones, into EU and world-wide collaborations with prestigious scientific institutions and individuals. It also gives great potential for application for EU projects and their approval. Novel results with high impact in this research area will result in higher visibility of physics and science in Slovenia, becoming more attractive place for foreign students and researchers.
