Significance for science
Every organization tends to think that the quality of its work is at least as good as that of others, if not the best. Comparison between organizations (and individuals) are usually based on the subjective impressions. Quality of work is a result of his education, work conditions, experience, and observation of co-workers. Over the years, it can happen that the quality of a work falls seamlessly but due to the slow gradual process, nobody notices. Therefore, over time could arise large differences between institutions which are not explainable with simple arguments but we need a scientific approach. With the present project we identified institutions whose quality indicators deviate from the average more than one would expect from a random distribution. With the help of mathematical statistical principles, we are trying to identify the causes of it.
Significance for the country
Improved quality of professional clinical work means less complications, shorter hospital stay and sick leave, better satisfaction of the patients. All combined also brings lower cost.
