Significance for science
In these patients, such therapy reduces the risk of stroke, increases the quality of life and
lowers the cost of treatment.
Significance for the country
The current results suggest that endovascular stent is not appropriate for all patients.
Large group of patients with asymptomatic internal carotid artery stenosis can be treated
