Significance for science
New knowledge in the field of bioceramic materials for the use of weight-carrying bone implants is obtained from the results of the post-doc project. Materials with satisfactory mechanical properties to be used as weight-carrying bone implants and, at the same time, with the ability to encourage the direct growth of the surrounding tissue on its surface, are one of the main interests in the field of bioceramics. The formation mechanism of the bio-active substance on the bio-inert implant surface and the bonding between those two materials is an important issue for future researches and the optimization of these materials.
Significance for the country
The positive results of the research will enable the further development of bioceramics for the production of weight-carrying bone implants. This field is still relatively unexplored, and the positive scientific results will benefit the society where they will be discovered. Mainly due to the novelty of this field, any further analyses or more detailed forecasting is neither possible nor realistic.
