Abstract
The aim of the project is research into new synthetic materials ranging from high-temperature superconductors to organic feromagnets, which have common theme, namely correlated electronic interactions. We focus on problems, which are of fundamental interest while being also important from the point of view of possible applications. Research is being performed in the real-time electron dynamics in high-temperature superconductors and spin dynamics in fulerene-based materials, where beside synthesis and elementary chemical and physical analysis we use mainly femtosecond optical time-resolved spectroscopy, magnetic methods and vibrational spectroscopies like infrared and Raman spectroscopy. Apart from basic research, the project is also devoted to investigation of potential applications of the abovementioned materials, where the emphasis is on active and passive superconducting devices, technologies for laser patterning of various materials, superconductor and fullerene-based optoelectronics and magnetism based on organic fullerene materials.
