Abstract
A dynamic model of a batch crystallization will be used for the identification of the precipitation kinetics. Parameters in the kinetic expressions for the nucleation, growth and agglomeration rates will be determined by a non-linear optimisation. To provide necessary data, a method for the crystal size distribution determination based on the computer image analysis, will be developed. On the basis of the evaluated model an optimal process control strategy, which leads to the desired properties of the crystalline product, will be proposed.
