Abstract
Metal oxides with and without the addition of dopants will be prepared in the form of powders and thin films. Several inorganic precursors will be used for the synthesis. Sol-gel process with the dip-coating technique will be used for the preparation of films. Electrochromic Co-spinel films, doped with Al an Si cations will be made and the efficiency of electrochromic transition measured. FT-IR spectroscopy will be used to study spinel lattice vibrations. Nickel oxide films, doped with silicium will be prepared. Structural changes in films on heating will be determined using X-ray diffration. Transparent films of tin dioxide, doped with lanthanoides will be prepared and their optical characteristics, such as transmittance and cathodoluminiscence will be measured. Gasochromic films of palladium doped peroxopolytungstic acid will be prepared by the sol-gel route. Colouring/bleaching kinetics of films exposed to hydrogen as a function of concentration of the catalyst and temperature of heat-treatment will be measured. New precursors of organolanthanoides type will be prepared.
