Abstract
The Phebus-FP Programme comprises 6 integral experiments on reactor severe accidents dealing with fuel degradation, fission product release, transport and behaviour in the containment. The aim of the Project is to perform an International Standard Problem, following the OECD/NEA methodology, on the second Phebus-FP test, FPT-1, performed in July 1996. The ultimate goal of such an exercise is to provide insight on the applicability of severe accident codes to real situations, by benchmarking them on an integral experiment, closer to real situation than any experiment performed so far. In addition, the Project will help the dissemination of the knowledge acquired by the Phebus-FP Programme throughout the European (and international) community. The project is on schedule, with the comparison workshop held, preliminary conclusions drawn and plans for detailed analysis agreed. Draft final conclusions will be discussed at the final workshop in March 2003, after which the TIP will be finalised following discussions at an applications workshop, in the light of the agreed final conclusions. Results so far were presented to the Quench Workshop at FZ Karlsruhe in October 2003.
