Abstract
Influence of the big arc furnaces is shown as disturbances – voltage fluctuation – on the wide area of electric power system. Synchronous generator, which operates in the near of steel plant greatly reduces voltage fluctuation. Question is what is consequence of this kind of dynamic operation for generators ageing. These consequences can be divided into two parts: problem of thermodynamics of windings and mechanical influence on solid parts of generator.
