Abstract
The basic goal of the project is inventarization of old and new algal habitats in Slovenia. Special attention will be paid to unknown groups of algae and localities. Since all typical water ecosystems will be included in the study the obtained results will have taxonomic as well as ecological and natural protection significance. With the cooperation of foreign specialists endemic species will be determined. The project is an important contribution to the preservation of the natural heritage of Slovenia.
