Significance for science
This project clearly was of major importance, because our scientific findings about the role of cysteine proteases in the disease as well as technological advancements were published in some of the most prestigious journals in the field (TIBS, EMBO J, Mol Cell Prot).
Significance for the country
Clearly a very important project also for the development of Slovenia. We introduced into regular use and practide several novel technologies, collaborated with two world class level Belgian groups, and accomplished two doctoral thesis works, which clearly has a major educational impact. One of the two new PhDs is currently in UK, whereas the other is leaving for postdoctoral work in the near future.
