Abstract
Spectrometric techniques based on the measurement of the transmission of light are subject to large measurement errors in case of light scattering samples. For this reason we will investigate the applicabilily of photothermal spectrometric methods, which are based on the indirect measurement of absorbance through the photothermal effects, and are therefore less affected by scattering of light. Thermal lens spectrometry, photothermal beam deflection spectrometry and photoacoustic spectroscopy will be tested by analysing liquid and solid samples.
