Abstract
We will study the following topics: (1) maximal semigroups of matrices and semigroups generated by elements with some additional properties, e.g. involutions, (2) maximal subspaces of elements with some additional properties, for instance Jordan algebras, (3) semigroups of operators on Banach spaces and Banach lattices, and (4) multiparameter spectral theory.
