Abstract
We plan to continue with our clinical research work on acute coronary syndrom with special emphasise on complicated patients including out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA9 and cardiogenic shock (CS). We will retrospectievly test our hypotheses on the patients enrolled in our own registries. We will prospectively addressed platelet function in comatose survivors of cardiac arrest undergoing hypothermia and PCI. The role of platelet inhibitors including P2Y2/GP 2b/3a inhibitors will be addressed in these setting. We will further develop percutaenous VA ECMO insertion in the cath lab in patients refractory to IABP and introduce an alternative method with Impella.
Significance for science
We expect to significantly contribute with enrollment to previously describe international trial. Wit our "ivestigator initiated" trials we plan to address new and original problems of practical importance.
Significance for the country
We hope to generate international visibility of Slovenia and that our results may in future relect also in international recommendations for treatment of patients with cardiac arrest and cardiogenic shock.
