Abstract
Using dynamic light scattering we studied orientational fluctuations in filled nematics. In thin samples we measured anchoring energy of photoaligned polymers by observing the fundamental fluctuation mode. In ferroelectric and antiferroelectric phases of homologous series of mesogenic compounds we studied the coupling between the smectic layers. We continued to study the model of the chevron structure of an SmC slab.
