For the leading magazine of Slovenian hunters - Lovec, which is published in a circulation of 22,000 copies, we prepared articles on the progress of monitoring of the population of jackals in Slovenia. The article introduces hunters with the results of the first season of systematic monitoring, which includes the period from November 2016 to February 2018. It analyzes the spatial distribution of the recorded signs of the presence of jackals and defines the areas of territorial groups of jackals and/or expected reproductive areas in Slovenia.

F.18 Transfer of new know-how to direct users (seminars, fora, conferences)
COBISS.SI-ID: 4907087As the final step of the project realization, members of the project team together with the Hunters Association of Slovenia (as one of the most important end-user of the research) organized beyond the 11th Slovene Hunters Day (Koper, 6 October 2018) the international professional-scientific meeting “Golden jackal in Slovenia and Balkan: recent situation and management implications”. Over 120 participants attended the event at which scientists and golden jackal researchers from five countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, and Norway) presented 12 contributions (four of them by project team members; all of them were published in the Book of abstract). The event finished with the round table at which representatives of all relevant institutions (MOP, MKGP, ZRSVN, LZS), interested public and end-users (sheep breeders, non-governmental organization Dinaricum) as well as foreign guest experts (from University of Belgrade and University of Zagreb) presented their opinions and attitudes towards conservation and management of golden jackal. The last represents firm backgrounds for adopting relevant strategy for sustainable management of golden jackal in Slovenia.
