Along with transfer of knowledge to stakeholders (4.1., result 3), popularization of research results among broader public (4. 1., result 4), where some activities are also related to the current section, in the report period from 1.1. 2017 to 28. 2. 2019, the members of research group actively contributed to maintaining ecosystem services and protection of natural and cultural heritage, with a range of additional activities: Projects 1. Monitoring of target beetle species of European conservation importance within Natura 2000 (Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, from 2006 onwards). 3. Monitoring of selected target crayfish species (Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, from 2018) 4. Monitoring of beetle species of European conservation importance at Ljubljana Castle Hill and surroundings (Municipality of Ljubljana, 2017-2018) 5. Protection of hermit beetle in the landscape park of Tivoli Park, Rožnik and Šišenski hrib (2018-2019). 6. Base-line inventory of hermit beetle population at Ljubljana Moor, carried out within the project PoLjUBA financed by the EU fund for Regional Development. (2018-2019). Memberships in commissions The programme group members are participating as experts in the field of nature protection in expert commissions established within relevant Ministries of Slovenia (Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food), as well as are participating in international professional bodies (SUPER-B: Sustainable pollination in Europe: joint research on bees and other pollinators). Raising public awareness We prepared 25 lectures and field workshops in the topic of protection of biodiversity, we presented the importance of nature conservation at five fairs and we prepared three biodiversity workshops for primary school pupils. We participated in publishing a monography for professionals and published six chapters in monographies for professionals and wider public, participated at preparation of nine educational exhibitions on natural and cultural heritage conservation and prepared one photographic exhibition. As part of the activities in projects LIFE NATURAVIVA and Nat2Care we also maintain Facebook profiles, where we regularly post news related to protection of biodiversity in nature conservation at least once a week.
